When moving to West Virginia, in the early 80’s, as part of the back to Mother Earth movement, stained glass was left behind in Seattle where I learned the art and worked for a small studio.
Our mountain top farm, with poor access and no electricity, limited any ideas of doing stained glass as a living in West Virginia. We were too busy surviving our chosen life style.
Things have changed dramatically over the last 28 years. Children are raised, access greatly improved (well, depending on the time of year), and those beautiful electric poles now grace our land.
In 1994, Labyrinth Art Glass was born --- had a few struggling years learning how to market without a store front.
The business incorporates a show schedule throughout the Eastern United States, custom orders and wholesale accounts.
I find the custom work the most rewarding.. To see your work installed in churches and peoples home gives great joy.
Teaching has also been an enjoyable part of the business. I love to share my enthusiasm of the art form and love to watch the evolving of artistic expression in my students.
Pictures of my work were chosen to be in The Library of Congress as part of their bicentennial (1800 – 2000) Local Legacies Project.
